LAMAR COUNTY ECHO June 11, 1987: 'Graveside services for Cordie R. Pierce Broadbent of Spavinaw, OK., were conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Friendship Cemetery by Gene Roden's Sons, Directors of Funerals. The Rev. James Elsom officiated. Mrs. Broadbent died Tuesday in Pryor, OK. She was born May 15, 1917, in Lamar County, a daughter of Sheppard F. and Exie H. McKnight Pierce. She married Edward Broadbent on April 20, 1981, in Miami, Ok. She was a Baptist. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Patricia Long of Grand Prairie, three sons, Jerry Wayne Trussell of Huntsville, Hollis Roy Trussell of Longview and Michael Lee Trussell of Dallas; four sisters, Novie Goforth of Dallas, Carrie Ward of Euless and Violet Jones and Nadene Humphrey, both of Paris; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.' Buried next to Ruby Valate Pierce. Friendship Cemetery Association placed new metal marker at gravesite in July 2005. |
