THE PARIS NEWS, 1 Jan 1953: 'Mrs. [Charles] C. M. Briggle, 72, a lifelong resident of Sumner, died Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at her home there. She had been in ill health for some time but her condition became worse on Christmas Day. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Gene Roden and Sons Chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.L. Lusby, assisted by the Rev. J. L. Wideman. Burial will be made in Prairie Ridge Cemetery, with Joe Bill Caldwell, Jack Kammer, Buck White, Ernie Watson, Robert Howie and Walter Martin as pallbearers. Mrs. Briggle is survived by three sons, Lloyd Briggle, Tyler, Johnny Briggle, Sumner, and Robbie Briggle, Paris; five daughters, Mrs. Jack Rosser, Mrs. Alton Stewart and Mrs. Edwin Everett, all of Paris, Mrs. Cleatus Wright, Robstown, and Miss Cloris Briggle, Sumner; one sister, Mrs. Flora Davidson, Rt.1, Paris; 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Briggle's husband died 17 Mar 1952. The former Miss Minnie Frances Davis, Mrs. Briggle was born 22 Sep 1877, at Carthage, Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Sumner.'

Tombstone is inscribed, 'Minnie Frances Briggle.'
