THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, October 21, 1935, p. 4: “IN THE NEWS 13 YEARS AGO. From The Files Of The Paris Morning News Thirteen Years Ago. Thomas Jones and Miss Birdie MeElyea of Biardstown, Leslie 0. Briggle of Sumner and Miss Nellie Dickinson, were married by E. S. Hutcherson at his home on Bonham street.”

THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, March 17, 1961, p. 4: “PERSONALS. L. O. Briggle, 1626 W. Austin, is a patient in Veteran’s Hospital in Dallas. ...”

THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, March 22, 1961, p. 2: “L. 0. Briggle. Leslie 0. Briggle, 1626 W. Austin, ill at home four or five weeks, died there Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. He was a retired city employee, born in Lamar County, February 10, 1891, son of the late Albert and Ella (Howie) Briggle. Service will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Gene Roden & Sons Chapel and interment made in Meadowbrook Gardens. He leaves his wife, the former Miss Nellie Dickinson; a daughter, Miss Jean Briggle, Paris, and his wife’s sister and brother, whom the Briggles reared: Mrs. Mabel Hurd, Navasota and John Dickinson, Paris. A World War I veteran, he was a member of Calvary Methodist Church.”
