THE PARIS NEWS, 21 Mar 1948: 'Mrs. [Albert] A. M. Briggle, 79, in ill health some time, died at home, 619 16th NE, Saturday at 10 a.m. The body will be taken to Sumner Methodist Church at 2 p.m., to lie until the funeral at 3 p.m., conducted by the pastor, the Rev. A.L. Lusby, and Brown-Roden Funeral Home will make burial in Prairie Ridge Cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers. Mrs. Briggle, a widow, formerly Miss Ella Howie, was born in Mississippi, 22 Sep 1868 [sic], daughter of S. L. and Sarah Blackburn Howie. She came to Texas at the age of three. She leaves a son, L. O. Briggle, Paris; one grandchild, and three brothers, Henry Howie, Ardmore, Okla.; Winford Howie, Fort Worth, and W. R. Howie, Sumner.'
Tombstone is inscribed, 'Ella B. Briggle.' On the same stone with Albert M. Briggle.
