Notes
From the book DEATHS, MURDERS AND OTHER TRIBULATIONS edited by Patricia Armstrong Newhouse: "Mr. M. W. Bridges, a farmer who lived near Howland, Lamar county, was run down and killed by a Santa Fe passenger train between Paris and Roxton Saturday afternoon. The unfortunate man had been in Paris trading and left for home driving a pair of gray horses. At a point when the railroad and the wagon had formed an acute angle the team heard the train coming from behind and ran away. The horses ran right upon the track just as the train reached them. Both horses and their driver were dead and terribly mangled. (Honey Grove Signal-March 16, 1900)"Records of Elizabeth Booth show birth date as 28 Mar 1850.
