THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 06, 2005: 'Audrey B. Bretz, 85, of Paris died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at Heritage Care Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. She was born June 6, 1920, in Lamar County, the daughter of Jesse James and Sadie Mae Wright Shires. She was in sales in the ready to wear departments of Sears and Ayres Department Store for many years. She married Edward Bretz in 1956, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1986. She was a member of Church of Christ and had attended the Lamar Avenue, Bonham Street and Westwood congregations over the years. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rubye Ausmus and Jessie Bridges; and two brothers, Horace Shires and Raymond Shires. She is survived by one sister, Eloise Shires of Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews.'
