THE PARIS NEWS, 19 Nov 1939, Sunday, p. 3: “MRS. J. L. BRECHEEN - Mrs. Clara Brecheen. 69, wife of J. L. Brecheen of 710 Bonham Street, died at 12:50 o’clock Saturday morning at the Sanitarium of Paris. Last rites will be conducted at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Roxton, with interment at Roxton Cemetery, Brown-Roden Funeral Home here having charge. The Rev. Travis A. White of First Christian Church here assisted by the Rev. J. D. Thomas of Garrett Memorial Methodist Church here and the Rev. Kirk M. Beard, Methodist pastor at Roxton, will officiate. Named as pallbearers are John Landers, Pat Warner, Barclay Poteet, Bob Holcomb, W. P. Waits and R. E. Mason. Mrs. Brecheen, born in Missouri in 1870, had lived in this vicinity many years. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. R. R. Teague of Dallas; and Mrs. H. C. Hartzog of Port Lavaca, and a son, Julian Brecheen of Paris; three grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Virgie Julian of Roxton and Mrs. Reagan Stallings of Paris and four brothers, Ben Julian of Bennington, Okla.; Tom Julian of Paris; Fred Julian of Roxton and Milton Julian of Maxey.”
