THE PARIS NEWS Tue., Sep. 15, 1992, p.1A. '...3555 Audubon, died Tue., Sep. 15, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services at 4:30 p.m. Thu., Sep. 17, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gaither Day. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home in charge. Born in Paris, a son of Clarence & Mildred Pharis Braswell, he was graduate of Paris Junior College & the University of Texas. He married Rachel Nov. 26, 1953. He was elected as Lamar County judge at the age of 25, serving in that office for 4 years. [more] He was in private practice prior to becoming district judge in 1969. He held that office without opposition since his appointment to the Sixth District bench by then Gov. John Connally. Now in his 23rd year as 6th District judge, he was honored in Feb., 1991, by the Paris Education Foundation with the establishment of an endowment for the benefit of the Paris ISD in his name.
