THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 17 Jun 1990: "Claude C. Brannon, 86, 329 E. Colorado, Dallas, died Friday, 15 Jun 1990, at Lake Park Nursing Home. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, 16 Jun, at Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom with the Rev. Jerry Hollowell officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mr. Brannon was born 21 Dec 1903, a son of G. W. and Ella Brannon. Surviving are a sister, Mae McMahon of Blossom; a half sister, Jean DeLaRue of Jacksonville, Fla.; a half brother, Ted Brannon of Everman, and a niece, Dot Rogers of Blossom."

Military marker inscribed, "PFC US Army - World War II."
