THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 2 Jul 1989. 'Ottis Boyer, 86, Rt.1, Blossom, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, 1 Jul 1989. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, 3 Jul, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Bridges and Wilburn Lee officiating. Burial will be in East Post Oak Cemetery. Mrs. Boyer was born 10 Jul 1902, in Lamar County, a daughter of Henry Phillips and Letha Dunaway Phillips. She attended East Post Oak schools and married James W. Boyer on 9 Jan 1921. He died 28 Jul 1980. She and Mr. Boyer lived in Pinhook, Post Oak and Blossom. She was a member of the Church of God in Blossom and its ladies adult Sunday school class. Surviving are four daughters, Bonnie Lou Bryan of Blossom, Gladys Brownlee of Pickton, Joyce Smith of Memphis, Tenn., and Darlene Neighbors of Sulphur Springs; two sons, Clyde Henry Boyer of Savanah, Mo., and James Glen Boyer of Danielsville, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren."Buried next to James W. Boyer.
