THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, Dec. 10, 1939: “Mrs. Arthur J. Boyd Dies - Funeral Service To Be Held Sunday Afternoon At Episcopal Church - Mrs. Rhue Croxton Boyd, wife of Dr. Arthur J. Boyd of 99 South Church Street, died at 2:25 o’clock Saturday morning at her home. She had been in ill health several months. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Church of the Holy Cross, Episcopal, conducted by the Rev. Norman R. Alter, the rector. Interment will be made at Evergreen cemetery, Manton-Fry Funeral Home having charge, and the pallbearers are to be S. W. Wilbor, R. H. Blyth, M. F. Wise, T. M. Scott, John Scarborough, Dr. O. R. O’Neill, Maclin Atkinson and H. H. McClanahan. Mrs. Boyd was born at Rockwall and was married to Dr. Boyd at Nocona on February 1, 1912. They lived first in San Angelo and moved to Paris in 1922, having resided here ever since. She had been active in social circles and in the work of the Episcopal Church. Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Mrs. A. A. Croxton of Nocona; a sister, Mrs. W. H. Hawley of Denton, and two brothers, P. A. Croxton of Dallas and H. D. Croxton of Nocona.”
