THE PARIS NEWS Tue., Sep. 1, 1992, p.2A. '...75, of Hugo, OK, died Mon., Aug. 31, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Paris. Services at 10:30 a.m. Wed., Sep. 2, at the First Christian Church in Hugo with Rev. Wayne Estus. Lampton-Mills & Coffee Funeral Home to make burial in English Cemetery in English, TX. Born in Clarksville, TX, a son of Beal Venson & Mae Proctor Bowers, he married Mary Virginia Moore Jan. 12, 1941. He was a past member of the Hugo City Council & was a deacon at First Christian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 303 in Fort Towson, Scottish Rite in McAlester & of the Order of the Eastern Star. He served in the Army during World War II & was decorated with the Purple Heart. He was a retired lab technician at Flex-O-Lite in Paris. He moved to Hugo 41 years ago from Clarksville. Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Robert L. Bowers of Corpus Christi & Steve Bowers of Hugo; a brother, Ben Bowers of Clarksville; 2 sisters, Verda Farley of Clarksville & Inez Kertok of Norman, OK; 5 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.'
