THE DEPORT TIMES, Deport, Texas, Friday, February 24, 1922: “Former Resident Is Dead. Miss Millie Bowen, 27 years old, died in San Antonio Friday. The remains were brought to Deport Sunday and buried at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. She was a daughter of A. J. Bowen, who lived several years near Milton. She is survived by four brothers and three sisters who live in Oklahoma, and one in Mississippi. Two of the brothers, James and George Bowen, of Talihina, attended the funeral.”
