From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; wife of Charles E. Bowden, daughter of C.B. and Margaret Nicholson Teel. Born in Sawyer, OK., died in Paris, TX.

THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 12 Mar 1981. 'Mrs. Thelma Teel Bowden, 67, of 648-12th NE died 4 Mar 1981 at her home. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, 7 Mar at Steele and Thomas Memorial Chapel with Dr. James Semple and the Rev. Larry Martin officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Gardens. Mrs. Bowden was born in Sawyer, Okla. on 28 Sep 1912, [another record has 1913] daughter of C.B. Teel and Margaret Nicholas Teel. She married Charles E. Bowden in Atoka, Okla. on 2 Mar 1935; he preceded her in death on 8 Nov 1970. Mrs. Bowden had lived in the Paris area most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and its Hannah Sunday School Class and of the Women's Missionary Union. She was past worthy matron of Paris Chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in the Rebekahs, Keen-Agers Club and the Shiloh Lunch Club. She had served as a volunteer for St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are two sons, Ralph Bowden of Irving and Mike Bowden of Plano; two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Threadgill of Paris and Mrs. Charlene Weaver of Houston; one brother, Woodrow Teel of Victorville, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Guin of Paris and Mrs. Bobbie Anders of Berwyn, Ill.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Jean Golden in 1962.'
