LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, July 27, 1989, p. 4: "Charles D. (Buck) Bourne, 82, of Paris died Wednesday, July 19, at 9:04 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, in the Detroit Cemetery with Dr. Raymond Armstrong officiating. Bright-Holland funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mr. Bourne was born March 7, 1906, a son of Charles Dudley and Emma Guest Bourne. He was a longtime attorney in Red River County. Surviving are his wife, Marie; one daughter, Betty Smith of Chico and two sons, Don Bourne of Liberty Lake, Wash. and Tim Bourne of Denton. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl, in 1983, and a daughter, Donna Bourne."
