| Notes Sep 4, 1986; Williard Emmit Books, 3425 Robin Rd., was killed in an automobile accident at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, north of Atoka OK. Services were held Monday, Sept. 1, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Semple officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mr. Books was born Sept. 12, 1906 in Spring Hill Community of Lamar County, a son of Arthur G. Books and Mary Lee Legate Books. He attended schools in Spring Hill and Milton and Married Lorene Ladd on Nov. 24, 1927 in Pattonville. She died Jan. 17, 1976. They moved to Paris in 1948. He operated a used truck and auto parts business here for a number of years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Deport Masonic Lodge and a former Optimist Club member. Surviving are two daughters, Mr. J.M. (Sue) Barker of Lynchburg VA, and Mrs. Jimmy (Laddie) Williams of Lufkin; one son, Glen Books of Paris; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Merkle of Houston, and one brother, Bob Books of Dallas.
