THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, April 13, 1944, p. 7: “ARTHUR G. BOOKS. Death of Arthur G. Books of 326 N. Main St., 62 years old, occurred Wednesday at 3:05 p.m. at his home, where he had been ill some time. He came here some years ago from Arkansas. Funeral service was set for 4 p.m. Thursday, conducted by Judge E. F. Harrell, Baptist layman, with interment in Springhill Cemetery near Medill, pallbearers being Charlie Martin, J. H. Hold, S. O. Harvey, J. W. Lawler, Tom Lawler, and Emory Easterwood of Medill. He leaves his wife and three children, W. E. Books, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs Marie Books, Merkel, and Bob Books, Paris; a brother, R. H. Books, San Antonio, and five grandchildren.”
