THE PARIS NEWS, October 10, 1975: "An autopsy has been ordered on W. W. Bolton, 65, of 2750 Bonham St., who was dead on arrival at McCuistion Regional Medical Center at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Lamar County Justice of the Peace Chester Oakes said Thursday. The autopsy was performed Thursday to determine cause of death, Oakes said, with results expected Friday. Bolton, according to police records, was stabbed in a fight Sept. 16 but refused to go to the hospital for treatment 'because he did not want the police involved.' Witnesses told Paris officers that Bolton had been bleeding for two days after the fight. Bolton was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by Cass Ambulance where he was treated and released. No charges were filed in connection with the incident. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Chapel with the Rev. P. F. Pretre officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8 o'clock. Bolton was born Oct. 31, 1909 in the Atlas Community of Lamar County. He attended public schools in Atlas, then moved to McKinney. He is the son of the late George W. Bolton and Mamie (King) Bolton. He was a concrete finisher and had moved back to Paris a few years ago. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. A. L. Thompson of Carrollton; one brother, K. C. Bolton of McKinney and several nieces, nephews and cousins." Transcribed by Debra Usry.
