Aug. 8, 1979; Luther W. Boatright, 2140 College St., died Wednesday at Quitman Hospital in Quitman. Services are set for 11 a.m. at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Milton Guttierez of Oak Park united Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7-8 p.m. Mr. Boatright was born April 3, 1913 in Cunningham, the son of the late William C. Boatright and Myrtle Graham Boatright. He attended public schools in Cunningham and married Dona Whitney on Oct. 28, 1933 in Paris. They moved to Houston in 1939 where he was associated with the French Ltd. Oil Co. until he retired in 1974 and they moved back to Paris in 1955. He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Adelle Love of Hugo Ok and Mrs. Louise Boren of El Paso; several cousins including Curtis Haley who was raised by the Boatright family and a number of nieces and nephews. Double marker with Dona Whitney Boatright. Near Katy L. Whitney and Clarence Ashford.
