Mrs. Mary Bland, a lifelong resident of Lamar county, who was 67 years old, died, at three o’clock Sunday morning rather suddenly of acute indigestion and heart trouble at her home on South main street. She was taken sick during the day. She was the daughter of the late S. B. Rucker, who was one of the pioneer farmers of Lamar county and one of the most prominent citizens. She was the widow of H. A. Bland, who for a number of years was engaged in the banking business in Paris and was one of the most active and prominent business men. She was prominent in society and club work for several years and was known by all of the old residents of the city. She is survived by two sons, Fritz Bland of Houston and Herbert Bland of Ray Ari.
