| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, June 1, 1942, p. 2: “Mrs. A. W. Blair Dies On Monday. Mrs. A. W. Blair, the former Miss Mary Ann Campbell, 73, died Monday at 11:20 a.m. at her home, 184 Pine Bluff St., after a sudden attack of illness Sunday evening. The funeral service has been arranged for 5 p.m. Tuesday at Manton-Fry Funeral Home, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Surviving are three children Mrs. Josh L. Brindley and Andy Blair here and Mrs. Roy Caviness of Shreveport, La., besides seven grandchildren. She was born in Kentucky, April 15, 1859, and was reared in Sherman, Texas. She was married to Mr. Blair, June 23, 1888 in Denison and that same year, they came to Paris, which had been her home ever since.” THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, June 2, 1942, p. 2: “Funeral For Mrs. A. W. Blair Arranged Tuesday. Funeral service for Mrs. A. W. Blair of 184 Pine Bluff St., who died Monday morning, was arranged for 5 p.m. Tuesday at Manton-Fry Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Warren T. Whiteside of Greenville, for Methodist pastor here, assisted by the Rev. John Berglund of First Methodist Church here, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. J. L. Brindley, Roy Caviness of Shreveport, La., Fred Newman, Claude Morgan, Rex Shelton and Bobby Blair were named pallbearers. Among those arriving for the service were Mrs. R. H. Cooper, Mrs. T. J. Hollis and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Phillips of Sherman and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Phillips of Ft. Worth.” Information from Texas Death Certificate: Buried next to Andrew Warren Blair. |
