| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, August 28, 1977, p. 2: "Mrs. Helen Blackwell, who lived on E. Jackson St. here, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Brown officiating. Maxey Funeral Home will have charge of burial in Fairland Cemetery. Mrs. Blackwell was born May 29, 1932, in Paris. She attended Bankhead Elementary School and was a member of the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. She married Luther Johnson in 1946. He died Jan. 22, 1957. She married Robert Blackwell Sr. in 1958. Survivors other than her husband, include her mother, Mrs. Virginia Bagby Allen of Paris; three brothers Clarence Cobb of San Antonio, J. C. Cobb and Louis Shoals, both of Paris; seven stepchildren, Robert Earl Blackwell, Jr., Vernon Blackwell and Miss Bessie Lou Blackwell, all of Forth Worth; Eddie Louis Blackwell, Joe Edward Blackwell and John Wilburn Blackwell all of Paris, and Jimmy L. Blackwell serving in the U. S. Navy. Five step-grandchildren also survive." Lamar County, Texas Marriage Records: Luther M. Johnson married Helen Marie Anderson on 24 Jun 1946. |
