THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Jul. 15, 1994, p.4A. 'Peggy Blackburn, 52, Rt. 2, Paris, the Sylvan community, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 1994, in St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Sylvan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Blackburn was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Paris, a daughter of Chester and Alla Mae Smith. She attended schools in Paris and Paris Junior College. She married Donald Blackburn on Jan. 20, 1961, in Paris. She was co-owner of Paris Iron and Metal and was an antique dealer and co-owner of Blackburn's Antiques. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Gina of Sylvan; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Wayne Moffitt of Sylvan; two grandchildren, Matt and Ashley Moffitt of Sylvan; her mother, Alla Mae Smith of Sylvan; and a sister, Judy Adams of Euless. Pallbearers will be Dr. William deG. Hayden, James Smith, Jerry Gillie, Pat Murphy, B.J. Templeton, Michael Blackburn, Don Smith and Craig Blackburn. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Sylvan Cemetery Association, care of Bob Alexander, 6675 Pine Mill Rd., Paris, TX 75460.
