THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 22 Jun 1989. 'Mary O'Dell O'Neill Blackburn, 70, 580 39th SE, died at McCuistion Medical Center at 8 a.m. Wednesday, 14 Jun 1989. Services were held Saturday, 17 Jun, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Kilmer and the Rev. Clynn Vickers officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Blackburn was born 16 Oct 1918, in Ashford, Ala., a daughter of Fitzghue and Mary Tate McNeill [maiden name in first sentence spelled different by recorder]. She attended Alabama and Florida schools and West Virginia Business College. She moved to Rochester, Minn., where she worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a bookkeeper until 1975 when she retired. She had lived in Paris for seven weeks. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are three daughters, Frieda Snyder of Placentia, Calif., Margaret Wilkinson of Memphis, tenn., and Deborah Knight of Lewisville; one son, Ronald Blackburn of Paris; 10 grandchildren; and one stepbrother and one stepsister.'
