THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Mar. 7, 1997, p.14A: 'McLEAN - Helen Webb Black, 91, of McLean died Wednesday, March 5, 1997, in a Pampa hospital. Services were at 3 p.m. Friday, March 7, at First United Methodist Church in McLean with the Rev. Thacker Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Deport at 4 p.m. Saturday. March 8. Lamb- Ferguson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Black was born June 19, 1905, in Deport, a daughter of Henry and Ida Thompson Webb. She married Robert [Eades] Black Dec. 29, 1925, in Deport. He died Dec. 10, 1969. They moved to McLean in 1927 from Blossom. She taught primary school for two years in McLean and wrote a weekly column for the McLean newspaper. She was a Methodist. Surviving are a daughter, Jan Edwards of Albuquerque, NM; a son, Bob Black of McLean; a sister, Ruth Haberle of Jacksonville; one brother, Mac Webb of Deport; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Home Mission Fund of the First United Methodist Church in McLean.'
