THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, 21 Mar 1988, p. 2: "Kirk Bivens, 503 Brown, died Sunday, March 20, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services are pending with Gene Roden's Sons, Directors of Funerals."

THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, 21 Mar 1988, p. 2: "(picture) Funeral services for James N. (Kirk) Bivens, 503 Brown, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. To 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bivens died Sunday, March 20, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Atlas, a son of Johnny and Mattie Robinson Bivens. He married Delia Bramlett on Feb. 11, 1941. Surviving are his wife; three sons, James W. Bivens, Sammy Bivens and Eddie Bivens, all of Paris; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Sylvia) Hutchings of Paris and Mrs. Jack (Denise) Browning of Detroit; two brothers, Carl Bivens of Paris and Howard Bivens of Dallas; 11 grandchildren; and one great grandchild."

Sexton record had "James Kirk Bivens" as name. Tombstone is inscribed, "TEC5, US Army WWII."
