THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Dec. 22, 1996, p.6A. 'Carl W. Bivens, 91, of Paris, died Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, in McCuistion Regional Medical Center. He was born Sep. 23, 1905, in Atlas, a son of John and Mattie Bivens, and married Lou M. Williams June 1, 1929. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and retired from the Babcock and Wilcox's boiler division. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, in Gene Roden's Son's Chapel, with the Rev. M. G. Ralson, officiating, assisted by Dr. Mike Lawson. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Deport. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Jeanette Bivens of Paris: three granddaughters and their husbands, Regina and Burrell Dean Kincaid of Deport, Terri and Bobby Jimmerson of Paris, and Lisa Bivens of Paris; eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one great-grandchild and 11 brothers, of which he was the oldest. Pallbearers will be Alfred Fangio, Steve Helms, Bobby Kincaid, Weldon Foster, Hershel Blankenship, John Draper, Sammy Bivens and James McGinnis.' Grave location has not been verified and is assumed to be next to spouse.
