THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, July 23, 1956, Pg.2: “Sidney Bishop of Roswell N. M., former Deport resident, died Sunday in Roswell, N.M., his sister Mrs. J. W. Cunningham, 946 S. Main St. here, was notified. His death occurred in a Roswell hospital, after three days illness. Funeral services will be held in Paris, Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Fry-Gibbs chapel, and burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Bishop, born October 30, 1880, was a son of the late Frank and Susan (Lambeth) Bishop and lived at Deport before moving to Roswell in 1916 for the benefit of his son’s health. The son, Frank Bishop, died during World War II at Fort O’Donnell, Manila, a victim of the Bataan death march. Surviving besides Mr. Bishop’s sister here, is his wife, the former Miss Effie Dodd of Rosalie.”
Tombstone is inscribed with years of birth and death only. On the same stone with Effie Dodd Bishop. The center of the stone is inscribed, "In Loving Memory - Frank Bishop - Victim of Bataan death March Buried in Manila, P. I."
