THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, October 10, 1937, p. 5: “INJURY FATAL TO RENO MAN. Thomas Bills Dies of Fractured Skull Suffered In Fall. Thomas W. Bills of Reno died Saturday afternoon about 3:30 o’clock at the Sanitarium of Paris, the result of a skull fracture received when he fell from a truck Saturday night Oct. 2. The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Reno Church of Christ, conducted by the Rev. Travis White of First Christian church here, and burial will be made at Union Grove cemetery, Manton-Fry funeral home having charge. Mr. Bills born January 9, 1906 in this county was engaged in farming at Reno. He was coming to Paris, riding in the back of a pickup truck, when he fell out, the truck rounding a curve on the highway a short distance east of town. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie R. Bills and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. T. P. Graham and Miss Stella Mae Bills, Dallas, Mrs. Mary Payne of Clyde, Florence, Emily, D. A., Joe, Bailey, Blaine and W. R. Bills, Jr., all of Reno.”
