THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 2 Mar 1989: "Joe Bailey Bills, 75, 1615 E. Houston, died Thursday, 23 Feb 1989, in the Veteran Administration Hospital in Dallas. Graveside services were held Sunday, 26 Feb, at Meadowbrook Cemetery by Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Byers officiated. Mr. Bailey was born 4 Jun 1913, in Reno, a son of W. R. Bills and Eula Mae Kelly Bills. He attended Reno schools and married Joyce Olene Burrow on 26 Dec 1941. She died 25 Mar 1957. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was the retired store manager for the Dan Bills Furniture Co. He was a member of the Paris Bible Church and the Paris Coin Club. Surviving are two sons, Jerry Bills of Paris and Jimmy Bills of Early; four grandchildren; two sisters, Alene Graham of Houston and Florence Large of Fresno, Calif.; and two brothers, Blaine Bills of Fresno and W.R. Bills Jr. of Temple."
