THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, January 9, 1944, p. 1: “GEORGE F. BILLS. Death of George Franklin Bills, 29 N. 29th St., occurred Saturday at 5:55 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he had been taken about 4:30 p.m. Friday after a heart attack. He had been in the laundry business here 33 years before his retirement, and had lived in Paris 40 years. He was born Nov. 14, 1869, in Kentucky. Cleon Lyles of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ, will conduct the funeral service Sunday at 3 p.m. at Manton-Fry Funeral Home, and interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Pete Thoms, Dale Duke, Tom Carroll, L. Z. Jack, Grady Duke and Leonard Kent. Survivors besides Mrs. Bills are these children: Miss Ruie Bills, Mrs. Jimmie Biard, and Billy Bills of Paris; Miss Sue Bills, San Gabriel, Calif.; Mrs. H. V. Brotherton, Decatur; Ray Bills, Hines, Calif., and Sgt. Jack Bills in the Army in the North African area. There are four grandchildren.”
