THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, February 4, 1948, p. 10: “E. E. Bills Dies at Home Here Tuesday After several months illness, E. E. Bills, 61. of 1803 Graham St., died at home. Tuesday at 4:30 p. m. He lived at Reno until moving to Paris 13 years ago, and had been a contractor and farmer. The funeral was announced for 2 p. m. Thursday at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home, conducted by Perry G. Cotham, Lamar Avenue Church of Christ minister, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Named as pallbearers were these nephews: Otha Thompson, Hugh Thompson, Gordon Thompson, Dan Bills, Joe B. Bills and Buckner Patterson. Surviving are Mrs. Bills, the former Miss Emma Bell Duvall, these children: Mrs. George Pledger, W. E. Bills and W. W. Bills, Paris; J. W. Bills, Howland, and Roberts W, Bills, Kingsville; six grandchildren, a brother, W. R. Bills, Paris, and these sisters: Mrs. Rhoda Sturdivant, Paducah, Texas: Mrs. Annie Thompson and Mrs. Lillie Patterson, Paris; Mrs. Stella Dickson, Deport, and Mrs. Zala Rowland, Hugo, Okla. Mr. Bills was born at Reno, Feb. 15, 1886, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Bills, who came from Tennessee. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and of the Masonic Lodge.”
