THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, September 25, 1961: “Mrs. Anna Lou Bills, 623 Lamar Ave., died Monday at 3:05 a.m. at home, after 23 years illness. she was the widow of W. H. Bills. Last rites, Tuesday at 2 p.m., will be conducted at Fry & Gibbs chapel by Elmer L’Roy of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ, where she was a member, the Rev. Crowley Bridges, Baptist minister, assisting. Interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Daughter of Jim and Adeline (Walls) Davis, Mrs. Bills was born May 19, 1879, at Tupelo, Miss. She attended schools there and came to Paris when she was 20 years old. She was married in March, 1891, to Mr. Bills, whose death occurred April 9, 1938. Children surviving are Mrs. Jesse Matthews, San Antonio: Mrs. Vera Chambless, Miss Ora Bills, and Miss Thelma Bills, all of Paris; Brance Bills, Urbana, Ohio, and Oscar Bills, Duncan, Okla., besides 18 other descendants.”
