THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, 10 Mar 1986: "Stanley V. Biggs - Stanley V. Biggs, Rt. 5, Paris, died Saturday, March 8, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bonham. Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. at the Byram Family Cemetery in Lamar County. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Biggs was born Jan. 1, 1918, at Barstow, Texas, a son of Samuel Velpole Biggs and Della Devilbliss Biggs. He married Mildred Gregory on March 9, 1947, in Pharr. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Stanley of Powderly and Brian Biggs of Paris; six daughters, McCartney of Velma, Shirley Howard of Paris, Barbara McCartney of Loco, Okla., Leona Wardlow of Bonham, Mildred Prunty of Paris and Mary Lee Byram of Paris; one sister, Kitty Slack of Fort Worth; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 2526-19th NW."
