THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, November 11, 1960, p. 2: “SAM W. BIGGERS. Sam W. Biggers, 1903 E. Cherry St., former farmer-stockman at Reno, died Friday at 3:40 a.m. at the Sanitarium of Paris, where he had been a patient about two weeks. Funeral service, Saturday at 2 p.m., will be conducted at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Delleny of Calvary Methodist Church, where Mr. Biggers was a member. Interment will be made in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Mr. Biggers leaves these children: Miss Thelma Biggers and Palmer Biggers, Paris; Swain Biggers, Petersburg, and Mrs. Eulas Rook, Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; these sisters and brothers Mrs. Arch McCleod, Mrs. Van Phifer, Rich Biggers and Henry Biggers, all of Charlotte, N. C. Son of the late W. A. and Amanda (Orr) Biggers, Samuel Watson Biggers was born at Charlotte, Bible class at Calvary Church. His wife’s death occurred here June 12, 1959.”

THE PARIS NEWS, Sun, Nov 13, 1960, p. 5: "Biggers Funeral. Burial rites for Sam W. Biggers. 85, were conducted at Fry & Gibbs chapel here. Saturday after: noon, and interment made in Meadowbrook Gardens, east of town. Bearers were Lee Blackburn, Steve Bybee, Herbert Reid, Frank Isom, Marvin Lassiter, Fred Lassiter, Billy Kennedy and Henry Crenshaw. Mr. Biggers, who lived at 1903 F. Cherry St., died Friday after two weeks illness. He formerly was a farmer and stockman at Reno."
