THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, April 20, 1955, Pg. 11: “The funeral of Marcus G. Biggers, 63, longtime Texas Power & Light Company employees, was set Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Gene Roden & Sons chapel, with interment in Meadowbrook Memorial Park. The Rev. Kirk M. Beard of Garrett Memorial Methodist Church; the Rev. James Riley of First Baptist Church and the Rev. O. L., Larue, Baptis minister, had charge, pallbearers being Collins James, Harold Doyle, Leland B. Smith, L. B. Killebrew, Fred Myres, Henry Crenshaw, Richard Owen and J. W. Davis. Mr. Biggers, who lived at 1924 E. Cherry St., died early Tuesday in a hospital here after illness. He was born in North Carolina, May 25, 1891, son of Wallace A. and Amanda E. (Orr) Biggers. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Besides his wife, the former Miss Clara Lee Gibson, he leaves these children: Chester Biggers and Mrs. Charles Thomas, Oklahoma City, Okla.: Paul Biggers, Dallas; Mrs. Raymond H. Lasater, El Paso; Marcus G. Biggers, Jr., and Mrs. Joe Pickle, Paris, six grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters: S. W. Biggers, Paris; J. F. Biggers, Henry Biggers, Rich Biggers, Mrs. J. F. Phifer and Mrs. A. E. McLeod, all of Charlotte, N.C.”
