THE PARIS NEWS-Mar.7,1975: Marcus G. Biggers, 53, 1611 E. Washington, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 9:24 a.m. Friday.
He was an engineer with the Paris Fire Department and had been a member of the department for 21 years. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Robert B.
Pinckney, pastor of Oak Park United Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be made in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mr. Biggers had undergone brain surgery in Dallas and had been home about a week before entering St. Joseph's Hospital here on Wednesday. Born March 30, 1922, in the Sylvan community, Mr.
Biggers was a son of Mrs. Clara Gibson Biggers and the late M. G. (Gill) Biggers. He married the former Miss Margaret Keesling on Jan.
10,1944. He had been associated with James Howard in contract painting for a number of years in addition to his duties at the fire department. He attended Paris schools and Paris High School and was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and its Gleaners Sunday School Class. Mr. Biggers was also a member of the Oak Park official board and of the Methodist Men.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ronnie E. Biggers of Richmond, Va.; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Melissa Biggers of Richmond; his mother, Mrs. Clara Biggers of Paris; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Lasater of El Paso, Mrs. Joe Pickle of Garland, and Mrs.
Clara Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla. and two brothers, Chester Biggers of Oklahoma City and Paul Biggers of Dallas. In lieu of flowers, persons desiring to do so may contribute to the Oak Park United Methodist Church Memorial Fund..
