THE PARIS NEWS, 14 Dec 1969. 'The funeral of Washington S. (Ted) Biard, 73, of 424 Graham St., was held Saturday afternoon at Fry and Gibbs chapel burial being made in Evergreen Cemetery. Officiating were the Rev. Felix Kindel of First Methodist Church, and Hubert Roach, Bonham Street Church of Christ minister. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery and bearers were Charlie Biard, Y.B. Mallory, J.W. Harrison, Frank Stewart, Joe Hammack and Hicks Graves. W.S. Biard leaves his wife, the former Miss Margaret Bean, whom he married here 14 Oct 1922; a son, Milton J. Biard, Tishomingo, Okla.; two grandchildren; and four sisters and brothers: Mrs. D.M. Meeks, Dyersburg, Tenn.; Mrs. Ted Herring and R.S. Biard, Paris, and D.S. Biard, Covina, Calif. Son of James W. Biard and the former Lillian Saunders, Mr. Biard was born 3 Jun 1896, in Biardstown, which was settled by the Biard family. He attended Paris schools and was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ. He formerly had managed the Paris Gin; served two terms as a county commissioner, and was an overseas veteran of World War I. He was a 50 year member of both the Paris Masonic Lodge and of Brown-Guest Post 30, American Legion here.' Tombstone is inscribed, 'Texas Cpl, Battery F., 133 FA Battalion WW I.'
