THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, April 12, 1938, p. 5: “Mrs. A. C. Biard Is Called By Death Monday. Mrs. Nannie Braden Biard, widow of Dr. A. C. Biard, died Monday evening at 6:10 o’clock at St. Joseph’s hospital, about a month after her husband’s death. The funeral service was set for 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the residence, 165 East Washington street, conducted by the Rev. Travis White of First Christian church, with burial at Evergreen cemetery. Manton-Fry funeral home had charge of arrangements, pallbearers being J. W. and Walter DeWeese, J. W. Williams, Ben L. Billingsley, B. R. Floyd and Bill Abshire. Mrs. Biard was a member of one of Lamar county’s pioneer families, born January 31, 1880. She attended Mary Connor college here, and was a member of First Christian church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion auxilliary and the women’s auxilliary to the Lamar County Medical society. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Callie Langley, Paris; Mrs. A. H. Perkins, Houston; Morris and A. C. Biard, Paris; and J. B. Biard, Marshall [sic], besides her mother, Mrs. C. C. Braden, Paris; and these brothers and sisters: D. and Leo Braden, Dallas; O. E. Braden, Compton, Calif.; and Ross Braden, Paris; Mrs. T. P. Williams and Mrs. J. W. T. Biard, Paris. There are three grandchildren.”
