THE PARIS NEWS, 21 Oct 1957: 'Mrs. J.W. (Buster) Biard, 96, resident of 717 8th SE, where she had lived 60 years, died there Monday at 2:15 a.m. She had been an invalid since breaking her hip in a fall several years ago. Funeral services, Tuesday at 2 p.m. will be held at Fry and Gibbs chapel by Hubert Roach, Church of Christ minister, Mrs. Biard being a member of that denomination. Interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Surviving are these children: Dudley S. Biard, Dallas; Mrs. D.M. Meeks, Dyersburg, Tenn.; W.S. (Teddy) Biard, Blythe, Calif.; R.S. Biard, Mrs. Walter Grisham and Mrs. Ted Herring, all of Paris, besides 25 other descendants. The former Miss Margaret L. Saunders, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James W. Saunders, Mrs. Biard was born in Tennessee, 19 Jul 1861. She attended the University of Mississippi at Oxford, and taught school in Glory community near Paris a year before her marriage, 1 Jan 1888, at Oxford. Her husband, member of a family of early day Lamar County settlers, died in 1938.'

Tombstone is inscribed, 'Lillian Biard.' Married James W. Biard. See record of son Raphael Semmes Biard Sr.
