THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, June 3, 1968, p. 2: "J. J. Beville, nearly 90, a retired merchant and farmer of Petty, Rt. 1, died Sunday at 11:30 p.m. at McCuistion Hospital, Paris. He had been in failing health the past two years. The funeral will be held at Petty Methodist Church where the body will lie for an hour before the service at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, burial in Forest Hill Cemetery will be made by Fry & Gibbs of Paris. Born at Alamo, Tenn., June 17, 1878, James Joseph Beville was the sone of Jerome and Margaret (Leslie) Beville, the family moving to Lamar County when he was 15 years old. He was a board member of Petty Methodist Church and formerly a Petty School District trustee, and belonged to the Masonic lodge at Roxton and Hella Temple Shrine, Dallas. He married Miss Andy Lottie Rutherford, November 18, 1903, in a double ceremony with her brother, Jack Rutherford and Miss Mary Phillips, at the Petty church. Surviving are his wife, besides these children: J. C. Beville, Clarksville, who is Red River sheriff; Mrs. Beatrice McGlasson, Kilgore; Mrs. Herman Kuhlman, Houston; Howard Beville, Paris; Mrs. Elmer Bramlett, Mount Vernon, and Joe Beville, Petty. Also 17 other descendants in three generations, and two sisters, Miss Birdie Beville, and Mrs. Nellie Thompson, both of Paris."
