| Notes THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 26 Mar 1987. 'Lydia Betterton of Cherry Street Annex, formerly of Deport, died Monday, 23 Mar 1987, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services were held Tuesday, 24 Mar, at Grant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Scott and the Rev. Pat Otwell officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Betterton was born 18 Jun 1899, in Mississippi, a daughter of Lemuel Dunn and Sarah McCary Dunn. On 13 Aug 1916, [his record has 3 Aug 1916] she married Harmon C. Betterton in Blossom. He died 29 Nov 1983. Surviving are a son, Weldon Betterton of New Boston; two daughters, Vera Rhodes and Neva Whitlow, both of Paris; one brother, Marvin Dunn of Dallas; one sister, Mattie Lou Adams of Odessa; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.'
