THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Mar. 21, 1997, p.6A: 'B.L.'Lee' Bettis, 86, 240 N. Cedar, Blossom, died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Bridges and the Rev. Glenn Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born July 8, 1910, in Fulbright to Philip and Rodie Beaty Bettis. He married Agnes Lucas May 23, 1938, in Red River County. She died Oct. 17, 1988. He worked for Evergreen Cemetery for 15 years and then worked for Phillips Industries in Clarksville until retiring. He was a Baptist. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and James Brown of Clarksville and Linda and Harold Brown of Blossom; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Carolyn Bettis of Lampe, MO and Phil and Kim Bettis of Blossom; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Donnie Brown, John Burchinal, Mike Burchinal, Darrell Loveless, and Luther Lucas.'
