THE PARIS NEWS, 19 Jan 1990: 'Tony D. Benningfield, 46, 538 Church, died in Medical City Hospital in Dallas Saturday, 4 Nov 1990. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, 7 Nov, at Union Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Hastings officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mr. Benningfield was born 28 Oct 1943, in Marlow, Okla. a son of Lee and Nettie Garrison Benningfield. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended the University of New Mexico. He married Elizabeth Swint on 28 Nov 1968. He taught school in Albuquerque, N.M., for three years before moving to Sherman where he taught for three years. He moved to Paris about 11 years ago and taught math and science at Crockett Middle School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dane and Lee Benningfield of Paris; his father-in-law, Victor Swint of Sherman; one sister, Sue Jackson of Lompoc, Calif.; and a brother, James Benningfield of Paris.'
On the same stone with wife, Elizabeth Swint Benningfield. Also has military marker inscribed, 'Spec 5 US Army, Vietnam.'
