LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Oct. 9, 1986. '...of Brenham died Tues., Sept. 30, in a Brenham hospital. Services Thurs., Oct. 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Deport with Rev. Chief Warden. Grant Funeral Home had charge. Born in AL., daughter of S.W. & Mathilda Murray Monk. Married to Tom [William Thomas] Bennett in 1910 in Milton. He preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include a son, John Willis Bennett of Brenham; 1 sister, Winnie Skidmore of Paris; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; & 4 great great grandchildren. Bearers were to be Mutt Harvey, Fred Swint Jr., Luther Wright, Forest Paris, Morris Lawler and Bill Upchurch.'
