THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, July 27, 1924, Pg. 5: “The funeral of Mrs. J. M. Bennett, who died in Mineral Wells was held at the Manton-Fry Chapel Saturday morning at 10 o’clock and was attended by a number of old residents and friends of the family who knew her when she and her husband lived here a good many years ago. Several relatives came from a distance to the funeral and returned home in the afternoon. The pallbearers were Sam Saunders, T. A. Marchbanks; W. G. Sluder, D. Williams and Buford M. Jones.”
