From materials donated to the genealogical library in 1995 by Thelma Jean Day: 'Charles Robert Bennett, born in Paris, Tx, Dec. 16, 1929, departed this life March 8, 1974. Services will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church at 4 p.m. March 13, 1974. Burial will be in Littlejohn Cemetery by Maxey Funeral Home. He united with the St. Paul Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. E. Rodes. A graduate of Gibbons High School in 1949, he served in the U.S. military in the Korean War. He was united in holy matrimony to Miss Ora Turner and to this union was born three children: Charlotte, Charles Robert Jr. and Reginald Glen Bennett. Surviving besides his wife and their 3 children are his mother, Mrs. Pinkie Bennett of Paris; another son, Sgt. Robert Michael Bennett, Clarkswill [sic] Air Force, Ft. Worth; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Joyce Moore, Paris; five grandchildren.'
