THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Oct. 24, 1995, p.8A..'Opal Hood Benham, 93, of Bogata died Monday, Oct. 23, 1995, in St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center in Paris. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the First Baptist Church of Bogata with the Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery by Wood Funeral Home of Bogata. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Benham was born Aug. 23, 1902, in Fulbright, a daughter of John Feliz [sic] and Claudie Story Hood. She married Horace Benham April 28, 1928, in Pattonville. She was retired from Red River Haven Nursing Home and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and its T.E.L. Sunday School Class. Surviving are her husband; one daughter and son-in-law, Gay Lee and Kenneth Logan of Mount Pleasant; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Joyce Benham of Hutchins and Jerry and Joyce Benham of Sumner; five grandchildren; Belinda, Pavageau, Ronny Benham, Jill Sugg, Ricky Logan and Kenney Logan; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Benham, in 1973. Her request was for donations to be made to the Bogata Cemetery Association or a hospice program.'
