THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 10 Dec 1981. 'Funeral services for Daris L. Benedict of Deport were held Monday, 7 Dec at the Grant Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Benedict died Saturday, 5 Dec 1981 in the Bogata Nursing Home. He was born 5 Jul 1914 in Texas, a son of Willard and Ella Benedict. He married Pauline Jewett 6 Feb 1948. Surviving are his wife of Deport; three sons, Dean McCoy and Charles Benedict, both of Paris, and Laney Benedict of Deport; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Murray and Mrs. Delores Kyle, both of Paris, and Mrs. Betty Nichols of Deport; three brothers, Dennis Benedict and Darrell Benedict, both of Tyler, and Dean Benedict of Athens; and 12 grandchildren.'

Double marker with Pauline A. Benedict. Tombstone is inscribed, 'S. Sgt US Army WW II. Children: Louise, Barbara, Betty, Dean, Laney, Charles, and Delores.'
