LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 15 Jan 1987: 'Funeral services for Alberta Bells of Brookston were conducted Saturday, 10 Jan, at 2 p.m. at the New Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. William Aimes officiating. Maxey Funeral Home made burial in Shiloh Cemetery at Brookston. Mrs. Bells died Tuesday at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. She was born 3 Aug 1906, in Lamar County. She attended Lamar County schools and was a Baptist. Surviving are two sons, James Hickson Jr. of Brookston and Roy Payton of McNeil, Ark.; one daughter, Johnnie White of Roxton; a brother, Jimmy Stephenson of Paris; two sisters, Thelma Brown and Precious Brown, both of Lubbock; and several grandchildren.'
In 1993 this was an unmarked grave.
